Card Ministry

Recently in a sermon, Pastor Klopke reminded us that we are all handi-abled.  Whether male or female, young or seasoned, housebound or active, we all can “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”  Scripture reminds us to reach out to those who are in trouble, happy, or sick.  If you have the gift of encouragement, please consider becoming part of the card ministry.  Each month, ministry leaders and members will specify individuals in need of encouragement, whether because they are hurting or celebrating, and I will disseminate a list (through email) of names and addresses.  Those in card ministry will pick 4-5 from among those listed and take responsibility for writing a note of encouragement to those people.  “A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver,” so whether you phrase the message yourself or find appropriate scripture verses, you will be ministering to the saints.  If you would be willing to help with this ministry beginning in October, please email Kathy Schmidt  ( indicating your interest.   Having recently been the recipient of many encouraging cards and messages, I know how far a few words can go to “refresh the saints.”
